Schlieren ZH - Memo Therapeutics is to manufacture its most potent antibody candidate against COVID-19 as part of a fast-track process approved by regulatory authorities. To this end, the biotech firm has entered into a partnership with the Lithuanian company Northway Biotech.  
Dätwyler invests in the Greater Zurich Area
Altdorf/Schattdorf UR - Dätwyler has gained a new major client in the beverages sector. The Group based in the canton of Uri is planning to expand capacities and construct a new skills center for surface coatings. In total, Dätwyler intends to invest 20 million Swiss francs in this project.  
Researchers develop mobile coronavirus testing device
Bellinzona/Lugano/Lausanne – Researchers from several Swiss universities are joining forces to develop a portable device to detect coronavirus infections. This should deliver a result in ten minutes. The Swiss National Science Foundation is supporting the project with funding of over one million Swiss francs.
Skribble enters into partnership with Intrum
Zurich – Electronic signatures are in future set to be connected with a digital customer identity check. To this end, the signature specialists Skribble are entering into a partnership with the Swedish firm Intrum.
Travel startup gains notable investors
Zurich – The Trip Boutique uses artificial intelligence to offer personalized holidays. The startup has now impressed a number of investors, including Orascom founder Samih Sawiris and Elisabeth Stevens, former director at Booking.com.    
Hemotune raises 5.1 million Swiss francs
Zurich – Hemotune has raised 5.1 million Swiss francs in a financing round. Investors included Occident, Zürcher Kantonalbank and a Korean medtech company. Hemotune has developed a medical device for blood purification.  
HeiQ technology in coronavirus-proof yarn
London/Schlieren ZH – British company Coats is using textile technology from HeiQ, a startup from the Greater Zurich Area, to develop industrial yarns that protect against viruses. The textile technology is said to be among the first in the world that can effectively block COVID-19.
BOND Mobility acquires Roll2Go platform
Zurich/Uster – BOND Mobility, a Europe-wide shared mobility operator that provides e-bikes, has acquired the shared micromobility platform of Roll2Go, a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. The platform offers mobility data analytics.
2D materials could facilitate smaller transistors
Zurich/Lausanne - ETH and EPFL researchers have identified 13 highly promising candidates from a total of 1,825 2D materials that could allow tiny, high-performance transistors to be built. This could provide fresh impetus to the miniaturization of electronic components.
