Zug – Fastening technology company Bossard from the Greater Zurich Area is teaming up with three German companies to sell 3D industrial printers. Bossard will also provide consulting services to customers.

Bossardcalls additive manufacturing or 3D printing “a forward-looking technology that will transform some areas of industrial manufacturing”. The company is keen to enter this emerging market by selling 3D industrial printers and related consumables such as metal powder and filaments.

To achieve these goals, Bossard is partnering with three German industrial companies: Trumpf, German RepRap and Henkel. These companies manufacture printers and materials, which Bossard will then distribute. Bossard will also provide consulting services to customers on the design of prototypes and customized components.

Bossard will focus in particular on 3D printers that are designed for professional use in areas such as product development, prototyping, model and mould making, architecture and product design. The 3D printer lines will be continually expanded in cooperation with the partners.

Headquartered in Zug, the Bossard Group is a global network of companies with 2,300 employees in 80 locations.
