Technology company Ecocoach from Brunnen in the canton of Schywz has been awarded a contract to equip the new headquarters of German solar energy wholesaler and system supplier Rehl Energy GmbH in Andernach in Rhineland-Palatinate. With a floor area of more than 2,000m2, the building comprises offices, a training center and the company’s warehouse and assembly workshop. It also features six e-mobility charging pillars. All facilities in Rehl’s building will be powered by solar energy, generated by a photovoltaic system with performance of about 370 kilowatts peak. The system includes power storage of 208 kWh.
The whole installation will be managed by a complete system from Ecocoach which optimizes energy flow. This solar electricity will supply not only the building, including all heating and hot water systems, but also the charging terminals, which can be used even at night by means of stored solar power. The Ecocoach management system encompasses all of the building technology, from lighting and heating to individual temperature control in the various offices and window blinds. Everything can be monitored and controlled via a tablet or smartphone.
Viktor Rehl, Managing Director of Rehl Energy, discusses the new system: “The Ecocoach solution means the whole system can be installed around 75 percent more quickly than comparable solutions for storage, energy management and building automation. All functions are integrated, and configuration is via a graphical user interface that requires no prior programming experience.” Rehl highlights the importance of an integrated emergency power solution. “Anyone generating their own electricity and investing in a storage system is generally not willing to risk disruption through power cuts.” The emergency power solution ensures that the solar plant remains in operation in the event of a grid failure, with the storage system able to power the whole building.
