Neuhausen SH – The German dairy cooperative Hochwald is opening a new plant in 2022. The Schaffhausen-based company SIG is delivering a total of 15 aseptic filling machines to be housed in the new facility.

According to a press release, Hochwald is planning to construct a new plant by 2022. This will boast capacity in excess of 800 million liters of milk per year. The dairy products processed at this new plant are to be sold in the form of UHT milk, cream, condensed milk and flavored milk for the European market, while the products will additionally be exported as far afield as China, the Middle East and Africa.

For the new plant, the dairy cooperative will rely on technology developed in the canton of Schaffhausen. In this context, the systems and solutions supplier SIG is to deliver a total of 15 aseptic filling machines to be used at the new production plant. Thanks to this, Hochwald will be able to offer a greater variety of aseptic packaging solutions in five different carton formats. The innovative carton structures developed by SIG also offer “proven environmental benefits” in comparison with other packaging alternatives, the press release explains.

“We are honored to be selected as a preferred supplier by one of the leading dairies in Europe”, comments Martin Herrenbrück, President & General Manager Europe at SIG, in the press release. He adds: “Our strong partnership with Hochwald started back in 1994 and to this day we continue to adapt and change together, to set a benchmark for the optimized filling of UHT milk”.
