Pfäffikon ZH – The cable and component manufacturer HUBER+SUHNER plans to expand its production capacity in the Greater Zurich Area. This investment will be in the low double-digit million range.

A considerable share of the industrial activities of HUBER+SUHNER are already taking place in the Witzberg industrial area in Pfäffikon ZH, which includes a cable plant, modern mixing plant and the central distribution warehouse. HUBER+SUHNER plans to relocate the production capacities currently still at the site in Pfäffikon village to the Witzberg industrial area. The entire expansion investment is scheduled to go into operation in 2021. According to information provided by the company, this investment will be in the low double-digit million range.

HUBER+SUHNER highlights that this expansion “is a clear commitment to the HUBER+SUHNER development and production site in Pfäffikon and a signal in favour of a strong Swiss manufacturing base”. This investment is possible owing to the good demand for high-tech solutions for the railway market and for automotive in the field of electric mobility. Through the concentration of production capacities at one location, HUBER+SUHNER expects to further increase efficiency and is creating favourable conditions for better cushioning of fluctuations in demand.

HUBER+SUHNER has its headquarters with the core functions in Pfäffikon too, as well as having another site in Herisau SG.
