Zurich – Tresorit has been able to secure fresh capital of €11.5 million in a funding round. With headquarters in Zurich, the startup offers a cloud encryption service to businesses.

The funding round was led by growth capital investor 3TS Capital Partners, it was reported in a press release. Further funds were received from venture capital firm PortfoLion as well as existing investors. Tresorit offers a fee-based cloud service to companies that enables them to manage, share and work on files securely. This is guaranteed by means of zero knowledge end-to-end encryption.

Tresorit was founded in 2011 by three Hungarian programmers and has an office in Budapest in addition to its headquarters in Zurich. According to CEO István Lám, the company plans to use these fresh funds to further expand its global reach and “build a global brand”. Tresorit says it is currently used by more than 17.000 customers globally, including leading enterprises in both Europe and North America.
