The promotional association ICT Scouts/Campus regularly recruits secondary school pupils with an affinity to the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). During courses on Saturdays, it offers young people the chance to develop and encourages them to work in these fields. To support these goals, it has campuses in Muttenz in the canton of Basel-Landschaft and in Bern.
Now, the association is opening an ICT Campus in Zurich, announced a statement. It is joining forces with Swico, which invests as an association in the ICT sector with a focus on the early support of young talent.
The new ICT campus will be inaugurated on January 25, 2020 in the Geländer Irchel at the University of Zurich. Present at the inauguration will be Michael Hengartner, President of the University of Zurich, and Filippo Leutenegger, member of the Zurich city council and head of the Schools and Sports Department of the City of Zurich.
The campus should work to combat the shortage of specialists and to strengthen the innovation location.
