Zug – GeniusLink, a unit of General Electric (GE), will use a blockchain solution from Crypto Valley firm ODEM to make it easier to verify academic or professional certificates of potential employees.

ODEM is developing a blockchain-based educational platform that enables students to customize their courses and save their certificates on the blockchain. The certificates are tamper-proof and can easily be verified later on. The startup aims to revolutionize education with its platform, making it more accessible for everyone.

Headquartered in Zug, ODEM has now found a new partner for its blockchain solution. According to a press release, GeniusLink, a unit of GE, will use the technology to make it easier to verify academic or professional certificates of potential employees. Existing certificates will be stored on the blockchain and new ones can be added at a later time.

According to Dyan Finkhousen, Director of Open Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing at GeniusLink, companies are increasingly turning to freelancers for specific tasks, and blockchain solutions such as ODEM’s make it easier to verify their qualifications.
