Zurich – Nexxiot has developed sensors that can be attached to transport objects such as freight wagons. The sensors provide information on the cargo in real time. The Zurich company is now expanding to the USA, opening offices in Dallas to this end.

Nexxiot develops sensors for the area of logistics that can be attached to freight wagons and ocean cargo containers. The recorded data is processed and analyzed using machine learning, and then made available to customers. The solution is already being used by companies such as SBB Cargo,  a subsidiary of Swiss Federal Railways, and Germany’s DB Cargo AG. According to COO Marcel Scheurer, Nexxiot is already market leader in connecting rail freight cars in Europe.

The company now plans to strengthen its presence outside Europe. It next has its sights set on expansion in the USA, it was reported in a press release. A newly formed team in Dallas, Texas, will be managing the activities with U.S. customers. From 22 to 25 September, Nexxiot will present its solution and services to audiences at the Railway Interchange exhibition and technical conference in the USA.

Nexxiot was founded as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) in 2015. The company is headquartered in Zurich.
