Within the framework of the Kickbox Program organized by the insurance group Helvetia, new business models are developed and brought to market maturity. This was how Adresta came into being. The team behind Adresta are seeking to make luxury watches protected against forgery. To this end, “all of the important information relating to a watch” is made digitally accessible via blockchain, as detailed in a press release. In this way, it is not only possible to identify an original timepiece model, but transparent access to information also makes it easier to detect and repair any potential defects in the manufacturing of specific models. Moreover, manufacturers receive support in revenue and sales planning.
As Helvetia has now announced, Adresta is to be managed independently moving forwards. The new start-up is headquartered in Zurich. A first key client account has already been secured in the form of the Geneva-based timepiece manufacturer Czapek & Cie.
ETH Juniors was also involved in the development of the Adresta concept. ETH Juniors comprises students at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) that help to generate innovative ideas alongside their studies. Leonie Flückiger of ETH Juniors has now been named Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Adresta.
