IDUN Technologies has gained the Japanese electronics company Sony as an investor. According to a press release, the investment comes after the start-up had participated in a support program run by Sony in Europe.
IDUN Technologies develops sensors for portable devices that enable accurate measurements but are still comfortable for the wearer. The start-up’s first biosensor, Dryode, was brought to market back in 2019. It is suited for sports monitoring under water or for long-term heart monitoring, among other things. The electrodes for Dryode consist of silicon-based materials with conductive particles that are soft and flexible. According to information provided by the company, they offer a clinical signal quality without gel. Their surface imitates the structure of a grasshopper, enabling adhesion without an adhesive.
IDUN Technologies aims to use the new capital to investigate new areas of application for its technology.
IDUN Technologies was founded as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) in 2017. Its headquarters are located in Opfikon.
