Achiko will definitively move its headquarters to Zurich. The general meeting agreed on this initiative in June according to a press release. The company will be renamed as Achiko AG.
Until now, the Indonesian company’s headquarters have been on the Cayman Islands. According to Allen Wu, Chairmain of Achiko, the move to Zurich aims to strengthen Achiko’s presence in Europe. He adds that trading in shares of businesses headquartered in the Cayman Islands has become more difficult due to new legislation. The move to Zurich should solve this issue.
Achiko has also been listed on the SIX Swiss exchange since November 2019. Wu stated in a press release at the time: “Our decision to list on the Swiss stock exchange SIX is a strategic choice, taken with a long-term view. Switzerland is a vibrant and growing hub for Fintech innovation with a strong and supportive regulatory environment.”
Achiko offers payment services for online games. To do so, it relies on solutions that people can use without a bank account or credit card. Among other things, the subsidiary Mimopay offers payments by phone bills or vouchers for online games and other services. In Switzerland, Achiko has already agreed partnerships with Hypothekarbank Lenzburg and Sonect, a start-up from Zurich. / ssp
