Deutsche Bahn operates a platform in the form of Mindbox via which it collaborates with innovative start-ups. Here, various programs across several categories – including robotics, among other areas – are offered under the name “StartupXpress”. For the next robotics program, Deutsche Bahn has now selected three start-ups, as announced in a LinkedIn post. The three companies are the Zurich-based Sevensense Robotics AG, Ross Robotics from the UK and the German firm Gestalt Robotics.
Sevensense Robotics is a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). The start-up offers technology that can be used in robots. It supports the autonomous orientation of robots – including in large crowds of people. To this end, Sevensense Robotics makes use of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision and sensors.
Deutsche Bahn intends to use its collaborations with the start-ups to develop technologies that can shape the train travel of tomorrow. The aim here is to modernize customer interactions, sales, internal processes and maintenance, for example.
