Zurich/Hombrechtikon - A new further training program aims to create specialists in the project management of automated laboratories. It has been developed for professionals by House of Lab Science and the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences and lasts two semesters.

The House of Lab Science, an innovation cluster and the location of leasable laboratory spaces in Hombrechtikon in the canton of Zurich, and the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences based in Zurich are together launching a new further education program held in English. After two semesters, participants receive a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in project management for laboratory automation, in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), and analysis. According to a press release, certification by the International Project Management Association (IPMA) is recognized internationally. It aims to enable participants to work as professional project managers.

Hans Noser, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board at House of Lab Science, comments in the press release: “The laboratory automation, IVD and analytics industry requires well-trained employees.” This is why House of Lab Science aims to create various further education programs. He adds: “The first CAS is a combination of IPMA project management and specialized training in IVD. This combination will enable project managers to quickly enter the laboratory automation industry and implement compliant projects.”

According to Hugo Hoffmann, CEO and Co-Founder of House of Lab Science, the course is aimed at professionals from all age groups and walks of life “who want to invest in their future and position themselves for success in the exciting and rapidly evolving field of laboratory technology.” Training starts twice a year with the first course beginning in September. ce/mm
