VirtaMed, which is based in Schlieren in the Swiss canton of Zurich and specializes in medical simulators, has begun working with Femasys Inc., located in Suwanee in the U.S. state of Georgia, according to a press release. VirtaMed has developed simulators for Femasys. According to its LinkedIn page, Femasys is a biomedical company focused on improving women’s healthcare worldwide by developing novel solutions and next-generation advancements that provide significant clinical impact to address severely under-served areas.
VirtaMed says in the press release that it is “proud to contribute to their medical education and training efforts, helping to ensure healthcare professionals are well-prepared to provide the best possible care.”
Femasys, a reproductive health company, says it is focused on offering solutions to improve patient care and the healthcare economy. It describes FemBloc as the first and only non-surgical permanent birth control solution, and FemaSeed as an infertility treatment allowing for direct placement of sperm. It has announced that its FemVue product, an ultrasound test for the fallopian tubes, is currently being marketed in the U.S., and that it has developed a novel technology platform for taking tissue sampling.
