Zurich – The non-profit blockchain project NEO and Swisscom Blockchain AG held the NEO Blockchain Hackathon in Zurich. Two teams from Zurich came in first and second place.

The NEO Blockchain Hackathon is a two-day event in which participants are divided into several teams and given 32 hours to complete their projects. The team NEO key took first place, followed in second place by What Hack. Both teams are from Zurich. As the event is a blockchain hackathon, the winners were rewarded with tokens: NEO key was awarded 500 NEO tokens, What Hack 450 GAS tokens.

NEO, which was founded in 2014 by Da Hongfei and Erik Zhang, uses blockchain technology to create a smart economy. Zhang was also a jury member at the hackathon, together with Kasimir Blaser, a senior consultant at Swisscom Blockchain AG, and Arno Pernthaler, head of the Swisscom Blockchain Academy.
