Chur – HTW Chur will receive 3.6 million Swiss francs from the government of the Canton of Graubünden to establish a centre for data analysis, visualization and simulation. It will also create a special professorship for computer sciences.

The University of Applied Sciences Chur (HTW) is set to experience significant growth in the field of computer sciences after the government of the Canton of Graubünden has commissioned it to establish a centre for data analysis, visualization and simulation. In return, HTW Chur will receive a special professorship for computer sciences. If the annual budget is approved by the cantonal parliament, the canton will provide HTW Chur with up to 3.6 million Swiss francs over a period of six years.

HTW Chur developed the concept for the new centre together with the Swiss Institute for Allergy and Asthma Research in Davos and other research institutes. The new centre will provide cross-sectoral services to the regional economy, industry and tourism.
