SIG Combibloc acquires US competitor
Neuhausen am Rheinfall/Elmhurst - SIG Combibloc, the packaging manufacturer based in the Greater Zurich Area, has agreed a takeover deal of its North American competitor Scholle IPN worth 1.36 billion euros. SIG intends to leverage Scholle IPN’s expertise in the area of packaging for fluids to expand into new markets and segments.
Chinese authority adopts water monitoring process from rqmicro
Schlieren/Beijing - The Chinese health authority CDC is now using the rqmicro.COUNT measuring device developed by the start-up rqmicro, based in the Greater Zurich Area. This instrument is able to monitor the presence of legionella bacteria in water.
CarboQuant research project awarded eight-figure grant
Dübendorf - A grant of 15 million Swiss francs awarded by the Werner Siemens Foundation will finance research work conducted as part of the CarboQuant project at Empa over the next decade. Innovative concept set to offer flexible lab space
Olten/Schlieren - Swiss Prime Site Immobilien has entered into a strategic partnership with Superlab Suisse, a supplier of laboratory spaces. Together, the partners are planning to establish new flexible laboratory facilities covering an area of 5,400 square meters in the Greater Zurich Area.
