AT&T paves the way for qiio to gain a foothold in the USA
Zurich - The North American telecommunications giant AT&T has awarded the IoT specialists qiio the world’s first Network Optimized certification. This covers qiio devices that have been developed on the basis of the Azure Sphere from Microsoft, which control IoT deployments via cellular technology.

Researchers teach ANYmal how to climb mountains
Zurich - The four-legged robot ANYmal has successfully scaled the 1,098-meter summit of the Etzel mountain. To achieve this feat, it was equipped with a new control system by researchers working at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. ANYmal is now able to combine external and tactile perception capabilities.
Fotokite secures fresh capital from the USA
Zurich/Cranberry Township - Fotokite has raised fresh capital of 13.7 million Swiss francs as part of a financing round. The lead investor was the US firm MSA Safety Incorporated, which will now also become a partner of Fotokite. The start-up based in the Greater Zurich Area is developing a drone for aerial imaging.
Inacta strengthens and expands its venture business
Zug - Inacta is restructuring and expanding its venture business. Former Julius Bär Chairman Daniel J. Calgary/Dietlikon - Canada’s Nanalysis Scientific Corp. has entered into a letter of intent to acquire QUAD Systems AG. The company from the Greater Zurich Area specializes in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance - an analysis method that is used in the pharma industry, for example.
