Crypto Valley home to ever more unicorns
Zug – The number of blockchain companies in Switzerland and Liechtenstein has increased once more in the second half of 2020 and is now 960. Over the same period, the number of unicorns has also almost doubled to 11 companies.

Zurich – The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) ranks among the global top ten across a total of 15 different academic disciplines. In fact, the ETH remains in top spot for Earth & Marine Sciences, Geology and Geophysics. Overall, Switzerland is the third-best academic location in the world.  
Momenta Ventures invests in Axino
Solothurn – The Swiss venture capital company Momenta Ventures is investing in Axino and has named Mario Vögeli as the new CEO. Axino supports food retailers in the digitization and automation of quality management.
SBB implements artificial intelligence
Zurich – SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) will use artificial intelligence for the maintenance of its rail network in future. LatticeFlow, a spin-off from the ETH, is providing the technology for this. Siemens is also involved in the project.
Kuros Biosciences signs new agreements
Schlieren ZH – Kuros Biosciences has signed sales and distribution agreements covering Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria and Finland for its MagnetOs bone graft. An agreement already exists for the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Aequitec receives investment
Zurich – Aequitec has successfully closed its first financing round. The startup attracted additional private investors as part of the investment by F10 Investment AG. Aequitec works in the digitization of business processes.
