Zurich - Orell Füssli has acquired a stake in Procivis AG. Together, the two companies are planning to drive forward advancements in the area of secure technologies for digital identities and services to public authorities.

According to a press release, Orell Füssli has acquired a stake in the Zurich-based Procivis AG. Procivis offers a digital identity platform by the name of eID+. In the canton of Schaffhausen, an electronic ID on the basis of eID+ was launched for inhabitants of the region back in June 2018. Among other things, this allows electronic public authorities services to be used.

Orell Füssli and Procivis are planning to jointly drive forward technologies for digital identity and e-government, the press release explains further. Orell Füssli has amassed experience in dealing with security solutions for public authorities. For example, the company is involved in printing bank notes for the Swiss National Bank (SNB) in addition to the production of passports and driving licenses.
