Existing shareholders Tamedia and Zürcher Kantonalbank have upped their involvement in Picstars. The amount of the additional growth funding was not disclosed in the corresponding press release.
Founded in 2004, Picstars supports companies in the hunt for brand ambassadors. The startup draws on its own database comprising verified profiles of known influencers. After conducting a search of influencers, companies can create campaigns on the Picstars portal and monitor the success of dissemination by influencers.
“Picstars has achieved growth in the last year and this has further strengthened trust in our platform. It is also an interesting service for our advertising clients, because authentic content from influencers is becoming a key element of communications for ever more companies,” said Samuel Hügli, Head of the Technology & Ventures Division at Tamedia.
With this growth funding, CEO Mark Sandmeier says Picstars intends to “further exploit market opportunities”.
