The “modern commercial and industrial property” features floor space of 5,000 square meters, as outlined in a press release issued by Schaffner with regard to its new company headquarters. The ground floor is home to the development department and features both laboratories and office space, while the upper floor has space for open plan and individual offices in addition to a meeting room.
An open architectural style was adopted for the new Group headquarters. The “latest energy standards” were also factored into plans. In this context, the building is heated using energy drawn from the groundwater, which “also provides cooling for the technical equipment and the building” in the summer. Moreover, solar panels should support the power supply at Schaffner’s new headquarters.
Schaffner manufactures numerous components for use in industrial applications. These include, for example, “solutions that safeguard the efficient and reliable operation of power electronics systems through the targeted shaping of electrical power”. The Schaffner Group’s new headquarters are located in Luterbach, although the company does in fact operate globally, serving its customer base via development and production centers in Asia, Europe and the USA.
