Baloise Bank SoBa is the first bank in Switzerland to launch a mortgage app. It was developed in collaboration with the Lucerne-based company AXON IVY, which specializes in digitalizing business processes, and the Zurich-based real estate valuer IAZI.
The app allows homeowners to easily arrange for a mortgage using their mobile telephone. According to the bank, homeowners have to answer six questions, after which an interest rate is offered. The interest rate is guaranteed for one week.
Customers carry out their own property valuations on the basis of reference pictures. Necessary documents can be photographed using the mobile telephone’s camera and sent directly to the bank. Once the data has been entered, a credit decision is made automatically in the app. Customers will then receive the contract by mail.
“The app is a further step in the direction of customer-oriented digitalization,” said Jürg Ritz, CEO of Baloise Bank SoBa. “It combines intelligent digital processes with advanced userability.”
The app is currently available in German, and a French version is due to follow in spring 2018.
