Schlieren ZH – The Sri Lankan textiles company Twinery is making use of a dye technology developed by the Greater Zurich Area start-up HeiQ. Its aim to make clothing production processes more sustainable.

Twinery brings together scientists, designers, engineers, marketing experts and entrepreneurs in order to develop new textiles technologies. The Sri Lankan company is planning to improve the sustainability of its production processes. Under the motto “Trucycled”, the firm is intending to eliminate manufacturing waste.

For its Trucycled approach, the company will be using HeiQ Clean Tech – a technology developed by the start-up HeiQ. It is used in dyeing processes and for the finishing touches applied to textiles. According to information from HeiQ, the technology helps to save water and energy, all the while reducing CO2 emissions. HeiQ has already won the Swiss Environmental Economy Award this year for its technology.

HeiQ is a spin-off affiliated with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). The company is headquartered in the IJZ, an innovation and start-up park located in the Greater Zurich Area.
