Winterthur/Zurich - Since July, Electrolux has been using a converted electric truck from Flux Mobility for its deliveries of household appliances. The start-up develops light commercial vehicles with a commitment to offering the highest range, load capacity and trailer load on the market. There is also an emphasis on digitized vehicles.

Since July 2023,  Electrolux from Sweden with Swiss headquarters in Zurich has been delivering its household appliances in a converted electric truck from Flux Mobility. As the Winterthur-based start-up reports via a LinkedIn post, the truck currently covers a daily distance of 250 to 300 kilometers with a vehicle load capacity of over 1,000 kilograms. This enables the company to go about its daily business in a low-emissions manner.

This is also being well received by customers, according to Flux Mobility, which was founded in April 2021. Peter Wiesendanger, who has managed the household appliances department at Elektro-Baer in Maur in the canton of Zurich for over 22 years, receives deliveries on a weekly basis from Electrolux: “I really appreciate the fact that Electrolux now uses an electric vehicle for CO2-free, silent deliveries”, he comments in the press release.

Since September 2021, Flux Mobility has also been a member of the energie moves winterthur network. The company develops and sells light electric commercial vehicles of up to 3.5 tons in weight. With large batteries and clever engineering, applications previously deemed impossible have now also been electrified, Flux Mobility explains: “We provide our customers with the highest electric range, load capacity and trailer load that the market has to offer. In addition, digitization is an integral part of the vehicles”.

Information regarding driving behavior is collected in order to optimize power consumption, routes and work breaks, for example. In this way, the vehicle helps to optimize its own use. “As such, the Flux becomes a smart employee with a service life of up to 15 years”, the company explains.  Flux Mobility has also made a commitment to ensuring that the batteries are given a second life. ce/mm
