The two startups Octotronic and Visense based in Zurich, Switzerland, will now operate under one umbrella: Octotronic AG. The new company will be led by members of both companies. Visense’s experts in video analysis using artificial intelligence (AI) and in low-code technology have announced in a press release that they are joining forces with Octotronic’s smart factory integrators. The newly created company is headquartered at Technopark Zurich.
According to the press release also published by Octotronic, both companies define themselves as smart factory architects with the mission of building a unified data architecture and analytic tools that “tackle the manufacturing industry’s toughest challenges”: scaling digital transformation and bridging OT and IT. The convergence of IT and OT aims to integrate physical installations and equipment from operational technology (OT) into the digital IT landscape.
According to the joint statement, Octotronic “merged with VISENSE to create OctoCore” as it was not satisfied with existing products. The proprietary data platform is said to break down data silos and provide complete data transparency. The modules and low-code environment reportedly enable simple dashboards up to advanced AI applications to be created easily.
Octotronic AG additionally offers smart factory consultancy and integration services. The newly formed company states being proud of beginning its new mission “with a diverse team of founders and advisors.” ce/mm
