Estun is making its move onto the European market. The robot manufacturer from the Chinese city of Nanjing has now opened a European headquarters in Baar in the canton of Zug, Switzerland. Estun has managed to bring on board Gerald Mies to head up its new subsidiary. “Estun is the fastest-growing company among large robot manufacturers. In addition, after the Japanese global market leader, it boasts the largest market share in China, ahead of European and other Japanese competitors”, as the former manager of Fanuc and Kuka explains in an article covering this news published on Automationspraxis.de, which belongs to the Konradin media group. “In the future, our aim is to have a local presence in all European countries with sales, service, training and spare parts supply”, Mies adds.
Estun was founded in 1993 by Bob Wu, who still runs the company today in his role as majority shareholder and chairman. The company has also been active in the area of robotics since 2001. According to the article, Estun offers more than 70 types of robots, ranging from collaborative robots to heavy-duty robots. In addition to the Robot and Intelligent System Engineering division, Estun operates another business unit by the name of Automation Core Components and Motion Control Systems. Moreover, the company’s service portfolio also includes aspects such as product design, project management and maintenance of production and operations.
