ABB robot to build electric van for VW
German car manufacturer Volkswagen (VW) has ordered 800 industrial robots from technology company ABB in the Greater Zurich Area. These will support production of the new all-electric ID. Buzz van in Hanover.
IDUN conceiving Internet of Humans
IDUN Technologies intends to use its Dryode biosensor to connect emotional and cognitive states of the mind with devices in the Internet of Things. The company has partnered with Asclepios to test this technology on analogue space missions.  
Decentriq impresses investors
Zurich – Decentriq has secured US$3.8 million in a funding round. The startup is developing a software platform that enables enterprises to access sensitive data without needing to trust a third party.  
ETH opens new AI center
The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) has opened a new research center for Artificial Intelligence. This is also intended to become an incubator for start-ups. The Managing Director of the new center is Alexander Ilic, who was previously National Head of Magic Leap Switzerland.  
Ruf presents camera against Covid-19
Ruf Avatech AG has developed an innovative camera to remotely detect fever in individual people. As was the case with the recently presented crowd camera, this new device also serves as protection against Covid-19 outbreaks, albeit on this occasion for indoor settings.
