Zurich/Berlin – The online fashion retailer Zalando is seeking to solve the problem of correct sizing and fit associated with online shopping with the help of the software company Fision. Following completion of the takeover, Fision will continue to be based in the Greater Zurich Area and will expand its staff complement.

Zurich - Bota Systems has been awarded a grant of 150,000 Swiss francs by Venture Kick. The spin-off from ETH Zurich is developing a sensor solution that aims to improve the interactions between robots and humans.  
Market launch closer for gyron.aero
A multi-purpose aerial platform is being developed by gyron.aero AG. Its application areas will bridge the gap between conventional drones and helicopters. The gyrocopter might already be launched on the market next year.  
Lend raises CHF 5.5 million
Lend has secured 5.5 million Swiss francs in a financing round. The round was led by the media company TX Group. The marketplace lending platform Lend is a direct channel for loans between borrowers and investors.  
No-Touch Robotics wins grant
No-Touch Robotics has been awarded a grant in the amount of 40,000 Swiss francs from Venture Kick. The spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology has developed contactless robotic grippers that can be used in the watchmaking industry, among other applications.
Researchers make plastic-degrading enzyme effective
Wädenswil – An enzyme was discovered a few years ago that is capable of breaking down PET plastic. Now, researchers at the ZHAW are working to make the enzyme more effective by using the method of directed evolution, which was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2018.
Most attractive Swiss cantons for firms
The canton of Zug has taken first place in a new location quality analysis by Credit Suisse. After reducing corporation tax, Zug was able to overtake the canton of Basel-Stadt. The canton of Zurich came in third place.
