Shanghai/Zurich - The recently published 2023 Academic Ranking of World Universities from the independent Shanghai Ranking Consultancy has placed the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) at number 20. The University of Geneva has significantly improved to 49th place.

US authorities select Climeworks for major carbon capture project
Zurich/Washington D.C. - The US Department of Energy has selected Climeworks for a project aiming to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air. Together with other partners, the ETH Zurich spin-off will strive to play its part in the removal of one million metric tons of CO2 from the atmosphere each year.

Ayre Group acquires majority in nChain with 500 million Swiss francs
Zug/London - Ayre Group based in London is investing up to 500 million Swiss francs in nChain, a blockchain company from the Greater Zurich Area. Ayre plans to accelerate the development of nChain and promote the commercial use of its 800 patents. Applications have already been made for an additional 3,000 patents.
Investors give ZuriMED 14.5 million Swiss francs
Zurich/Hong Kong - ZuriMED Technologies has raised investments amounting to 14.5 million Swiss francs in a series A funding round. The medtech company plans to use these funds to accelerate the development and market launch of its innovative surgical tools for minimally invasive soft tissue repair.
