Zurich - The two start-ups Radicant and Squirro have entered into a strategic partnership. Radicant, a company that focuses on providing sustainable financial services, is keen to offer its client base automated recommendations generated with the help of the data analyses based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) from Squirro.

Zurich - Google has officially opened its innovation center situated on Europaallee in downtown Zurich. With around 5,000 employees, the Zurich location is the IT giant’s largest development hub outside of the USA. The Californian firm is seeking further growth in Zurich over the years to come.

Tomils - All primary schools in the Engadine are to be given access to the correction app Herby. This is one of the ways in which the Engadine is celebrating its status as the most digital valley in Switzerland, after it was named as the winner of this title awarded for the first time in June. The app supports arithmetic training and relieves teachers of the task of correcting work.

Zurich - Researchers from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich have tested a prototype of a wearable exomuscle on human test subjects for the first time. The results are highly promising: the exomuscle allowed both healthy participants and those with a form of restricted mobility to lift their arms and objects for far longer.

Figino - The Ponera Group has won this year’s SEIF Award for Responsible Innovation. The start-up from the Greater Zurich Area has been recognized for its development of a modular system intended to replace wooden pallets. The modules can be reused and recycled.

Kloten - The Circle at Zurich Airport has gained additional tenants. These include Neoss, a manufacturer of implants based in the UK, as well as Beyond Gravity, an aerospace sector supplier that forms part of RUAG.

London - Zurich has taken third place in the Global Liveability Index, while Geneva was ranked in sixth position. The index is produced by the Economist Intelligence Unit. This year, it reflects the individual quality of life in 172 cities around the world.
