ETH moving closer to early Parkinson’s diagnosis
Zurich - Researchers from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich have identified new biomarkers that could be used to diagnose Parkinson’s disease at an early stage. Initially, further tests are to be carried out, but the researchers are optimistic about the prospects of this approach.
BC Platforms taking part in EU program for cancer therapies
Zurich - BC Platforms will take on the role of lead partner in the collection and analysis of clinical data for novel cancer therapies as part of a project organized by the European Commission. This consortium project by the name of ONCOVALUE is being led by Helsinki University Hospital and has a budget of 7 million euros.
AiEndoscopic wins the Swiss Innovation Challenge
Pratteln - AiEndoscopic is the main winner of the Swiss Innovation Challenge 2022. The company, which specializes in smart tracheal endoscopies, also claimed the Life Sciences Special Award. The cleantech start-up Perovskia Solar finished in second place, with the medtech firm Spirecut rounding off the top three.
Zirkulit and EuroTube conducting research into circular concrete
Kloten ZH/Zurich - The circular concrete specialist, zirkulit AG, is collaborating with the foundation EuroTube on the development of a sustainable construction material for Hyperloop tubes. Particularly resistant and lightweight concrete is required for the vacuum tubes that form part of this emissions-free transport system.
