The industrial group Dätwyler has agreed an extension of its partnership with Nespresso until 2030. Dätwyler will be investing in the expansion of its production processes based in the Greater Zurich Area with the aim of manufacturing more sustainable coffee capsules.

Witterswil SO - Biolytix AG specializes in microbiological and molecular biological investigations on plants and foodstuffs. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, however, the company has taken its first steps into a new business area. Biolytix is now responsible for carrying out coronavirus testing on behalf of major companies including Roche and Novartis.  
Distran helps identify leaks on ISS
The ETH spin-off Distran has developed an ultrasound camera to help with the detection of gas leaks. The US space agency NASA is now deploying this technology to help identify the source of a leak on-board the International Space Station (ISS).
Vantage Data Centers building data centers
Winterthur – The US firm Vantage Data Centers is building four data centers in Winterthur. The 40-megawatt campus will cover an area of three hectares in total. The shell construction phase has already been completed.  
Greater Zurich start-ups shine at 5G competition
Bern/Zurich – The winners of the Swisscom StartUp Challenge 2020 have now been announced. They will now have the chance to put their developments to the test in Swisscom’s 5G lab. The competition was held on a global basis this year for the first time. Overall, four of the five winners are based in the Greater Zurich Area.  
Gilytics impresses with software to aid construction of power lines
Zurich – Gilytics has raised a total of 1 million Swiss francs as part of a financing round. The ETH Zurich spin-off has developed a software solution that can help with laying power lines by leveraging the benefits of geodata.
Biognosys expands lab in Greater Zurich
Biognosys is expanding its laboratory in the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich. The company will consequently have one of the largest high-end mass spectrometry laboratories worldwide. The lab will provide contract research services to global pharma.
