Further rise in number of UZH spin-offs
The University of Zurich has given rise to a total of 75 spin-offs over the past ten years. In the past year alone, seven founding teams decided to pursue their business visions independently. These are mostly MedTech or BioTech start-ups.
City of Zug embracing further digitization
Zug – The City of Zug has launched a new eGovernment solution. The eZug app allows users to digitally obtain services from local authorities. Zurich - CSS Insurance is the first investor in Resmonics, a start-up that was recently established. The capital is to be used to expedite market entry of its first product, a smartphone-based digital biomarker service for people with asthma or COPD.
LatticeFlow raises 2.8 million US dollars
Zurich - LatticeFlow has secured 2.8 million US dollars in a funding round. The spin-off from the ETH Zurich supports companies in the development of artificial intelligence solutions. The US army is one of its customers.

Winterthur/Thalwil ZH – ZHAW researchers have developed a self-disinfecting face mask together with the company Osmotex. It is 99 percent effective against viruses and bacteria. Further possible uses could be in textiles in public spaces and hospitals.
