UZH develops plans for new center of dentistry
Zurich – Construction of a new center of dentistry at the University of Zurich (UZH) will be handled by the Boltshauser Architekten/Drees & Sommer working group. Its “Light Rack” project was chosen as the winning entry in an architect competition.    
Taiho Pharmaceutical establishes subsidiary
Zug – The Japanese company Taiho Pharmaceutical has founded a subsidiary in Zug. The new firm will above all focus on the development of cancer drugs and European commercialization activities.

Schlieren ZH – Studies have revealed that the two potential anti-COVID-19 drugs developed by Molecular Partners have shown a therapeutic and preventative effect against the mutations first observed in the UK and South Africa.  
ETH research team develop 3D printed stents
Zurich – An ETH Zurich research team has developed a new type of bioresorbable airway stent for upper airway obstruction. They are individually adapted using a 3D printing process. This could greatly simplify the treatment in future.  
WinGD offers world’s biggest dual-fuel engine
The 12X92DF dual-fuel engine created by Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD) is the world’s most powerful engine of its kind. WinGD has now been awarded a Guinness World Records title. The engine is used in container ships powered by liquefied natural gas.
VolkerWessels investing in Parquery
Zurich – VolkerWessels from the Netherlands has invested in Parquery. The startup from the Greater Zurich Area develops solutions for smart parking, which might also benefit smart cities. The funding will help Parquery to expand its platform.
VirtaMed launches new simulation platform
Schlieren ZH - VirtaMed is presenting a new simulation suite for surgical gynecology. This development from the medical simulator manufacturer will allow gynecologists to train for hysteroscopies and gynecological laparoscopies.  
Sygnum brings wine to the blockchain
Zurich/Steinhausen ZG - Sygnum Bank and Fine Wine Capital AG have tokenized an initial selection of premium wines. This move will allow investors to make investments in the wines. Moreover, these are the first asset tokens issued under the new Swiss DLT Law that came into effect at the start of February.  
Crypto Broker authorized as securities house
Zug – The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) has authorized the brokerage subsidiary of the Crypto Finance Group as a securities house. This applies to a bilateral trading system with digital assets.
