Humabs BioMed opens new research laboratory
Bellinzona - Humabs BioMed has inaugurated a new research laboratory in Bellinzona. Two years ago, the Ticino-based biotech company was taken over by US corporation Vir Biotechnology, which is now investing in Humabs BioMed’s home town with the new laboratory.
Hylomorph wins innovation award
Zurich – Hylomorph has won the innovation award from the European Heart Rhythm Association. The spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich has developed a biocompatible membrane to improve the body’s acceptance of implants.
ASFALT launches e-bike
Solothurn – Startup ASFALT from the Greater Zurich Area is launching its latest development, the ASFALT LR e-bike, on the market. At 120km, the range of this model is twice that of normal e-bikes. The batteries are fully integrated in the frame.
Netcetera and Deutsche Kreditbank simplify online payment
Zurich – Software company Netcetera from the Greater Zurich Area and Deutsche Kreditbank have together developed a solution for the use of credit cards online. This will simplify payments through biometrics.
Universities launch master’s in cyber security
Zurich/Lausanne – The Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Zurich and Lausanne are introducing a joint master’s degree in cyber security. The program is being supported by the Swiss government and is expected to start in academic year 2019/2020.
