More quality, fewer settlements: In 2023, the investment promotion organization Greater Zurich Area Ltd (GZA) helped 89 high-quality, pioneering and promising companies to settle in the Zurich economic area.

Kloten - The World Travel Awards has named Zurich Airport the best airport in Europe for the 21st time in a row. The airport located in Kloten in the canton of Zurich also won the Airport Service Quality Award, once again topping its category in Europe.

Zurich/Buffalo - Nanoflex Robotics has installed its first remote-controlled robotics system for neurovascular procedures in the USA. The magnetically controlled catheter developed by the spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich will be used for tests and studies at the Jacobs Institute.

St.Gallen - The START Global Summit x Hack will bring together global big tech executives with the next generation of young talents from across Switzerland and Europe on March 21 and 22 in St.Gallen. This is the largest event of its kind and is led exclusively by students.

Zurich/Dallas - Locatee is being acquired by the Texas-based company Tango, a leading provider of cloud-based real estate software. Locatee has developed a solution for analyzing the use of workspaces. Its Zurich office will become Tango's European headquarters. Myriam Locher from Locatee is now Managing Director of Tango International.

Schlieren/Puidoux - VirtaMed and Atracsys are joining forces to drive innovation in medical training and simulation. The partners are focusing on robot-assisted and navigated surgery using digital twins and advanced simulation algorithms.

Altdorf/Waterford/Allendorf - Together with its partners Momentive and BSC Computer, Dätwyler is launching dielectric elastomer actuators on the industrial market in 2024. They are covering the entire value chain, from raw materials to control of components for the drive technology.

Lucerne/Zurich - The Luzerner Kantonsspital Gruppe (LUKS Group) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) are seeking to bring medical care, research and teaching more closely together. In this context, joint chairs are also to be established.
