Zurich - The two partners ABB and Sevensense Robotics have developed a new technology for mobile robots. By combining artificial intelligence and 3D vision, they are able to orient themselves in their environment without external aids and intelligently navigate through it.

Schlieren ZH/Bangalore - The biotech company InSphero from the Greater Zurich Area has entered into a partnership with the biotech supplier Bionova Supplies. The agreement is intended to expand the distribution of Akura and Spheroid microplates for cell research to India.

Niederhasli/Thornton - Ascent Solar Technologies, which is based in the U.S. state of Colorado, has acquired Flisom AG’s manufacturing equipment in the canton of Zurich. This investment will enable it to increase its production capacity for flexible, thin-film and featherweight solar modules by 300 per cent and establish an international presence.

Zurich/Stuttgart - The start-up LatticeFlow from the Greater Zurich Area and the testing organization DEKRA have agreed a strategic partnership. Together, the two partners intend to offer the industry’s first safety assessment service for applications on the basis of Artificial Intelligence.

Bellinzona - The Life Sciences CC Association has officially been established. It will lead the competence center for life sciences research at the future Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino. Its specific focus will be on bio-fabrication in connection with drug development.

Vancouver - Five Swiss cities have been included in the top 100 of the report Europe’s Best Cities 2023 published by Resonance Consultancy, a global consultancy firm for business location promotion. Zurich ranks in 5th place. Basel and Geneva take 9th and 10th, while Bern is in 18th place and Lausanne is ranked 24th.
