Cham ZG - Aeris Cleantec AG has raised a total of 3.3 million US dollars as part of a financing round. Among other parties, the co-founders of Tencent and Tinder have invested in the company. Aeris Cleantec develops air purifiers based on Artificial Intelligence.  
Kyburz bringing batteries to the circular economy
Freienstein ZH - Kyburz has put into operation an in-house facility for recycling lithium-ion batteries used at the company. The first plant of its kind in Switzerland can recover almost all of the metals contained in these batteries. It can also be used for other battery types.  
Ceneri Base Tunnel is open
Bern - Simonetta Sommaruga, President of the Swiss Confederation, officially opened the Ceneri Base Tunnel on Friday. Transport and travel times through the Alps will be drastically cut with this step, with an attractive rapid transport railway system also to be opened in the canton of Ticino.

Pfäffikon SZ – German investment firm Afinum has acquired a stake in Threema. The start-up has developed a messenger app that offers unparalleled privacy protection. It has more than eight million users to date.
