Zurich/Cambridge - The Boston Dynamics AI Institute of the Hyundai Motor Company will establish a presence in Greater Zurich at the start of 2024. The team in place here is set to focus on core areas of the institute such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), hardware design, machine learning, mobile manipulation and robot ethics.

Zurich/Innsbruck - The U.S. Research funding agency IARPA is providing financing of up to 40 million dollars to two projects with the participation of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). Both projects aim to connect two logical qubits with one another and lay the foundation for future quantum computers.

Kloten/Rubigen - The two founding companies of zirkulit AG, Kästli Bau and Eberhard Bau, have joined forces with the construction firms Grisoni-Zaugg SA, the JMS Group and the Lötscher Plus Group to found zirkulit Beton AG. They will use zirkulit’s CO2 storage technology in connection with recycled concrete.

Zurich/Mollis - Swiss Blue Salmon has brought on board two new investors: Erne, the construction and real estate group active throughout Switzerland, and Holinger, the Basel-based engineering firm. Swiss Blue Salmon is planning to construct the world’s most modern land-based recirculation system for salmon farming in Mollis, which would also be the largest fish farm in Switzerland.

Schaffhausen - Viso.ai has raised 9.2 million US dollars in a financing round. With this fresh capital, the company will strive to satisfy increased demand for computer vision applications and expand its platform. The company can already count DHL and Orange, in addition to other Fortune 500 companies, among its client base.
